Summer is in full swing, and wanting to enjoy all it has to offer, we’ve polled our staff, friends, and family and are sharing some of our favorite pet friendly places. From local restaurants, shopping, and outdoor spots, to destinations that we think are worth the drive, have fun exploring with your furry friends!

For many of us, apps are go-to resources for information, and pet-friendly business and location apps can be a great place to start. Here are some that we use: BringFido for restaurants, hotels, and events; Sniffspot for privately rented, off-leash yards and spaces—perfect for dogs who need room to run without the crowds, and AllTrails for dog-friendly hikes and nature walks.
Another fun way to learn about new pet-friendly locations in the Harmony, PA area is this Instagram page. Do you have any go-to pet apps that you like to use? Hit reply and let us know!

In both of our towns, you don’t have to go far to find pet-friendly places to grab a bite. These are some of our favorites who welcome pets with open arms (and maybe a water bowl or treat), making them great places to enjoy a meal, brew or… the other brew, with your four-legged companion!

Pettiquette tip! Check the venue’s pet policies before every visit to ensure there have been no changes to their rules. Be mindful of temptations at others’ tables and of treats that may be offered; not only can some foods be harmful for your pup’s health, but you also never know how dogs may react when food is around. Give them space from other pets if needed. Using a short leash helps ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Running errands or spending a casual afternoon shopping doesn’t have to mean leaving your dog at home. Of course we love seeing your fur-babies in our stores, plus here are other pet-friendly shops who welcome your furry companions, making it easy to browse, pick up essentials, or simply enjoy a little outing together.

Several shops downtown on Higgins Ave. often welcome leashed pets, like Ear Candy Music, The M Store and Fact & Fiction.
Pettiquette tip! Keep your pet close on a leash, watch for automatic doors or busy foot traffic, and avoid letting them approach people and other pets unless invited. It’s a good idea to bring along quick cleaning supplies in case of an indoor accident, (trust us, this HAS really happened to one of us… and, it wasn’t a #1!) A little extra awareness also helps prevent unintended purchases because someone got into merchandise that was too hard to resist!

There’s nothing like a good walk to enjoy the summer sunshine and fresh air with your pet. While there are plenty of parks and trails close to home, some of the best spots for a peaceful stroll or a more adventurous hike are just a short drive—60 minutes or less—from your local Holistic Pet Nutrition Center.
