New Year - New Website Just for You!

Happy New Year! As you welcome the new year, we welcome you to check out all the amazing new customizable features on our revamped website, and shop using our Buy Online Pick-up In Store (BOPIS) option; we can even bring your order straight to your car!

For several months, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes updating our website, and for those of us who really don’t consider ourselves “tech savvy”, (honestly, I think that’s ALL of us) this has been quite a feat that we’re proud to share.

Our goal was to create a site that allows you to research your pet’s needs, get recommendations on products based on those needs, and be able to shop for those products all in one place; and we are excited to share the final site with you! Please note, this IS still a work in progress. While we have already been working on the site with our point of sale provider for a good portion of the year, we still will be continuously updating the shopping pages with better product pictures and descriptions. We’ve got over 2000 products on our online store! For those of you who already know your favorite products, you should easily be able to find and purchase them. For those who want to look around at the options before making a purchase; this is where the current product descriptions are limiting. We’ve got you, and are continuing to work on those updates to enhance your experience. We believe in transparent information and want you to have access to all of that info too.

So, (drum roll please…) come check out the new site with us!

While online shopping is nothing new to most of us, we’ve got options that will help you find what you need with ease. Firstly, choose your home store at the top of your screen, and when you click on any of the following options, you’ll automatically see what is currently in stock at your store. Four of the five ways you can shop is by using the Shop pull down menu. The three most straight forward options are to shop:

The 4th option is a little more unique. If you already have a favorite brand, you can find their products by clicking on the Brands We Trust page, (or simply typing that brand name into the search bar at the top). This Brands We Trust page is a great resource when wanting to quickly find brands that we have vetted to meet our quality standards. Perhaps you’ve gotten a recommendation from a friend, or maybe you’re traveling and need to purchase pet food at a store that doesn’t carry your usual food; just bring this page up on your phone, and be confident that if you’re buying one of these foods, it’s a brand you can trust.

No matter which option you use to find your products, we have a request; when creating your account, make sure to use the same email address that you use when shopping in the store. This will automatically link to your current Astro Rewards account to this account. We were told that there’s a way to fix wrong emails, but it’s a big mess, and remember how many of us consider ourselves “tech savvy” people? Thanks in advance for that. ;-)

Finally, 5th way to shop is with recommendations through a feature that we’re excited to show you next!

I’m going to warn you; we’re going to toot our own horn here. Never had we seen a website with a customizable symptom > product recommendation questionnaire based specifically on your pet’s needs, but now we’ve got one just for you! This DIY Nutrition section of our website has got a lot of other information for you to learn about your pet’s health and how to support it, with the main feature being this questionnaire. These are the other topics you’ll learn about here too:

The Power of Food - Learn just how important good quality food is to obtaining good health, resulting in fewer vet visits and a happier pet by reducing and eliminating negative symptoms caused by many foods and lifestyles.

Understanding Labels - Learn the info that is need-to-know and which are only marketing buzz words.

Using the button on the DIY Nutrition/Start Here page, you will be prompted to start by choosing whether you’re researching for a dog or cat.

Then you’ll choose the symptoms that you are concerned with, and based on the results of your input, we have put together information specific to those symptoms. You’ll see an informational overview of the potential issue(s), a nutrition enhancement plan (food types, supplement recommendations, feeding routines, etc.), holistic support tips, educational videos, and concerns that should include your vet.

Of course this questionnaire isn’t a veterinary diagnosis, nor should it replace veterinary care, but education for you to understand the topics further so you feel confident when making decisions regarding your pet’s health.

Tip: Some symptoms can bring up as many as five different results. We recommend starting with the result that has the most overlapping symptoms. Take notes and bring any questions you have regarding products related to the results to your local store, and we’ll be happy to help you!
